About Caliphate Air

A Nigerian airline with a standard to live up to.

Founded by the Sokoto State Government in 2025, Caliphate Air combines modern regional aviation with the discipline, scholarship and hospitality associated with its name.

Our story

Named for stewardship, not spectacle.

Sokoto has been a centre of scholarship, trade and public stewardship since the early nineteenth century. Our name carries that inheritance into a modern Nigerian airline.

We are building around a simple promise: safe operations without exception, schedules passengers can trust, honest fares and hospitality that feels unmistakably Nigerian.

What guides us

Eight values, demonstrated in operation.

01

Excellence

We hold every flight to the standard we would want for our own families.

How it shows up

Manufacturer-programme maintenance, published on-time targets, cabin audits on every rotation.

02

Integrity

What we publish is what we deliver — fares, schedules and policies without fine print.

How it shows up

All-inclusive fare display, no hidden fees, disruption compensation stated up front.

03

Hospitality

The warmth of Northern Nigeria, carried into the cabin.

How it shows up

Service in English and all three major Nigerian languages (Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba) along with mainstream Northern languages like Fulfulde and Kanuri.

04

Safety

The one value that is never traded against cost or schedule.

How it shows up

NCAA-regulated operations, independent safety audits, an anonymous crew reporting line.

05

Innovation

A young airline should not inherit old habits.

How it shows up

Mobile-first booking, digital boarding passes, paperless cargo documentation.

06

Respect

Every passenger is received as a guest, whatever the fare they paid.

How it shows up

One service standard across the cabin; accessibility support requested at booking.

07

Unity

Routes that connect North to South, not just capital to capital.

How it shows up

Abuja hub timed so Sokoto, Maiduguri and Port Harcourt connect the same day.

08

Sustainability

Growth that the next generation will not have to undo.

How it shows up

Fuel-efficient Embraer fleet, single-use plastic reduction, SAF readiness study underway.

Growth roadmap

Start focused. Grow responsibly.

Phase 01

Domestic consolidation

Nine cities on the Abuja hub, frequency built to daily on trunk routes, second ERJ145 into service.

Phase 02

Regional Africa

Niamey, N’Djamena, Accra and Douala — the trade corridors our northern cities already use by road.

Phase 03

International

Widebody partnership and long-haul codeshare from Abuja, followed by Caliphate Air metal on Middle East routes.

Phase 04

Hajj operations

Dedicated seasonal Hajj and Umrah capacity from Sokoto, Kano, Gusau, Kebbi and Maiduguri.

Phase 05

Sustainable aviation

Fleet renewal on fuel-efficiency criteria, carbon reporting, and a sustainable aviation fuel readiness programme.
